This red calcite was mined from the Norcross-Madagascar orange calcite quarry. This type of calcite likely occurred as a massive conglomerate, formed from mineral rich water solidifying following accumulation as flowstone and/or through precipitative processes.

The creation of a Septaria is a succession of events along millions years, they form around a core of organic matter (plant or animal). Sediments continue to settle on the nodule, compacting it under their weight, which will flatten it and expel water, while inside microcracks begin to form, amplified by tectonic movements. It is in these shrinkage slots that over time dissolved minerals will crystallize.

Beautiful specimen of Labradorite, this mineral belongs to the feldspar group and the high iridescent variety is called Spectrolite.

The name came from the first findings of this elusive specimen that have been found in Labrador, Canada.

Microcline forms during slow cooling of orthoclase. Microcline may be clear, white, pale-yellow, brick-red, or green; it is generally characterized by cross-hatch twinning that forms as a result of the transformation of monoclinic orthoclase into triclinic microcline.

This specimen came from Madagascar and have a unique coffee and milk colour.  The polishing work is made by local people.

From Caresse, France - this is a sulfate mineral that contains selenium, transparent. It has perfect and easy cleavage in three directions and, depending on its orientation, a tenacity that can make it either bendable or breakable. It’s both water soluble and very heat sensitive.
